Medallion Lighting started in 1982 as a manufacturer and distributor of portable lighting products. The company was founded on the principles of providing quality, value and service to its many customers in both the hospitality and retail industries. These three principles are still in place today, giving guidance and direction to the company's development of product offerings and markets to pursue. In addition, a common sense approach to business has allowed the company to invest heavily in inventory and develop an industry leading ''quick ship'' program. Medallion continues today as a privately held partnership.
Medallion Lighting Corporation has grown over the years to include two separate business divisions. The first division, Medallion Contract Lighting, services the hospitality industry with lighting designed specifically to meet that industry's requirements and specifications. The second division, Medallion Retail Lighting is a distinct retail division selling to retail furniture stores and lighting centers. Medallion Retail is a value-oriented product line with a fashion and design focus.
Medallion's headquarters, manufacturing and warehouse facilities are located in Mentor, Ohio. The main office is a 6,500 sq. ft. facility with an additional 2,000 sq. ft. showroom. The manufacturing and warehouse facilities consists of over 90,000 sq. ft. of space for storage and product distribution.
Hospitality Lighting Products
Medallion has developed and currently stocks 29 coordinated room groups, consisting of traditional, contemporary and transitional designs. The lamps can comply with all ADA requirements. In addition, the product line features many desk and table lamp options for electrical outlets and USB ports to address the traveling consumers' growing need for electrical and digital charging connections. The list of product types include desk and floor lamps, wall and ceiling lighting fixtures, nightstand lighting, ergonomic chairs, lamp shades, vanity lighting, energy saving bulbs and more.
Product design originates with our two in-house designers, utilizing our designs, our specifications and our quality standards. The designs are forwarded to our partner factories to create CAD drawings and samples for approval. Typically, designs originate by either modifying existing Medallion products, from customer supplied drawings and specs or from scratch.
Medallion Lighting is committed to maintaining stringent quality control. The overall process includes procedures at the factories along with oversight and additional steps by Medallion's on-site agents. Once product arrives at Medallion, an in-house program exists for identifying and addressing any additional issues that may arise.
